Rockstar Games supported Gta Online, the multiplayer mode of Gta V until now with almost regular updates and contents. After 3 years, Rockstar Games got ready for Read Dead Redemption 2. This quite explains why the release date might be pushed to 2020 but there is a possibility of the game released a bit earlier but only if the upcoming Read Dead Redemption 2 has no multiplayer mode like the Gta Online.
